I am building a new home and it is almost done. I forgot to ask them to wire an outdoor outlet for my fountain pump. They have to wire it directly from the main meter box. The builder is asking for $193 for doing this. Is this a reasonable price? While I am good at low voltage wiring, etc. I have never done high voltage stuff. The length of the run is very short (less than 10 feet).

Depending on the details, it might not be a bad price. It really depends on how the house is constructed and what is not done yet.

To do what you describe, in the Maryland area, the charge would be around $200.00.
