Ceiling Fan Switch/Controls question

Hi

I have a ceiling fan thats the lights are controlled by a 3 way switch at on one side of the room and a "Casablanca" brand control on the other which controls both the fan and the lights. (lights-fan-reverse-power are the settings) It takes up about the space of a GFCI in the box.

Are these types of control universal? Can I find these easily at the hardware store?

Casablanca switches are available from Lowes, Home Depot and others.

Add it may not work correctly with two switches trying to control the fan.
