I have a Broan Allure range hood over my stove. occasionally the bulbs burn out and have to be changed. However everytime I have to change one the bulb comes off it's base when I unscrew it. So I have to get in there and get that base out. Is there a grease I can use that is safe for light bulbs that would prevent them from sticking. The halogens don't do this but are expensive so I use regular 40w sylvanias

Pencil graphite is a good lubricant for light bulbs. Blacken the threads of bulb (or at least make them grey) before you install it.
|
Many of the bulbs are no longer even brass plated, let alone solid brass.

ok thanks for the info
