| Prev. owner installed really ugly white jelly-jar fixtures in a bulkhead on the right wall of a large walk-in shower. They're above the shower head, so I assume only a stray drop or two might hit them, but I understand that they are not up to code. I'm wondering if they must be replaced with something made specifically for a shower, or if I could use a wet-location rated outdoor fixture with an enclosed bulb and seal where it attaches to the wall with a rubber gasket? They are very prominent, so I'd really like to find something more attractive and more in character with the room and the house than cans or the like.

| Shower fixtures must be rated for DAMP locations if they can't be subjected to shower spray or WET locations if they can. You need to follow the installation instructions for the fixture. Many spec a GFCI protected circuit if they are to be used for wet locations. |
