Holding up the grounding screw you're trying to hook

I'm trying to replace a GFCI recepticle that has the grounding screw on top. I'm trying to figure out a trick to hold the screw up so that I can hook the grounding wire. The wire is 12-2, so, not very flexible.

If the screw keeps falling back down, it's a back-wired connection. You do not wrap the wire around the screw on this type of connection.
The (unbent) end of the conductor goes into a hole in back of the fixed screw plate. Tightening the screw draws up the movable backplate to grip the conductor(s).
