Super basics!

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry if this is a stupid post but I'm just looking for resources to begin to learn about the concepts on electrical wiring. I want to be able to understand the wiring and electrical use of my home.

Any suggestions would be awesome.

'Wiring Simplified' by Black & Decker is a good place to start for typical residential wiring.

Wiring Simplified is written by H.P. Richter, W. C. Schwan, and F. P. Hartwell.

The Black and Decker book is called "The Complete Guide to Wiring"

Completely separate publications, but both are reasonably good.

Wiring Simplified is written by H.P. Richter,-- written originally in the 1930s by Richter, now deceased, and updated periodically by others. Fred Hartwell is a contemporary expert. Look at the copyright date. A book from the 1960s would not be as helpful as 2011 or later.

Buy a CURRENT one. Even the most current one is behind the latest code in place in many parts of the US. However, they can get you started pretty well.
