Sibir fridge wiring

Posted by glen_gardener (My Page) on

I have a Sibir (Swedish) refrigerator which can be powered by either calor gas or electricity. It's quite old but in excellent condition as I use it for only a few hours each month. I would now like to use it with electricity, and need to fit a plug, but it has two wires, one white and one black. Can anyone tell me which is which please?

thanks
Glen

If this was one of the made for the US models, it's easy. Go buy a plug. The white goes to the larger of the two blades, the black to the smaller.

Note make sure it's a 120V model. If it's a 240V model things are more involved (you can not just fit a US 240V plug to this if it's a european 240 wired unit).
