| Is anyone familiar with the wineries of Temecula. Can you make any recommendations? I appreciate any help you can offer. |

| Keyways Winery, Stuart Cellars. There are many. I am a member of both of their wine clubs. I'd stay away from Wilson Creek. That is a big commercial operation and they are "famous" for their stupid almond champagne, which is NOT pure wine!! There are also some botique wineries there by appointment only. There are many ways to taste wine there. Lot's of tours available so you don't have to drive drunk. Good restaurants also! |

| We just made a quick trip there yesterday to meet friends, and I picked up a wine country map so I could give you more info. These mostly have websites, so google them: Lumiere Winery, Longshadow Ranch Winery, Alex's Red Barn, Loma Vista Bed & Breakfast, Hart, Callaway,Thornton, Inn at Churon Winery, Baily, Miramonte, Stuart Cellars, Mt. Palomar, Briar Rose, Bella Vista, Maurice Carrie, La Cereza, South Coast, Ponte, Weins, Wilson Creek, Doffo Winery, Foote Print, Tucalota Springs RV Park?? winery??, Cougar, Frangipani Estates, Polumbo, Filsinger, Leonesse Cellars, Oak Mountain Winery, Robert Benzoni Vineyards, Keyways, Gershon Bachus vintners & Wedding Venue, Tesoro Winery, Temecula Hills Winery, Boorman Vineyards. WHEW!! De Portola Road and Rancho California Roads are Parallel, and have most of the wineries, but there are a few on side roads connecting those two main roads. Also a few in old town and off the beaten paths. Magic Carpet Wine Tours Inc might be an option for you. Pala Casino and Pechanga Casinos are close by in case you feel like donating some cash to those establishments... Enjoy!! Some of the wineries charge for their tastings, and their websites tell you a lot about them. Old Town Temecula is a fun place to hang out also! We had lunch yesterday and tasted wine at The Smokehouse Restaurant at Ponte Winery. It was great!! The tasting fee there was $10.00 per person. Because I am a club member at Stuart Cellars and Keyways, I get free tastings at those wineries. Of course some wineries let you keep your glass, which is very nice!! Enjoy!! |

| desertdance - How nice of you to pick up the brochure and to list all this information for me. I truly appreciate it and it will definitely come in handy. When I return I will let you know what we did. I am going to definitely visit these websites. I defintely want to make my way to Old Town Temecula too. thanks so much for all your help - was much more than I ever anticipated. |

| Just thinking -- if it's not too late, there is a website that may be of interest. I haven't been down there in a while, but Callaway used to have a good tour. I think there was something (maybe in Westways, AAA magazine) on Old Town very recently. |

| I'm not the original poster BUT based on desert & kelp's suggestions we spent a delightful day down in Temecula. The morning was spent in old town & prowling antique stores & the afternoon @ the wineries. Definitely worth while printing off the 2 for 1 coupons for $30 visited 3 wineries & came home with 6 glasses. Faulkner was the 1st winery we visited & had a blast there!! |
