Depends on how much of a wine person you want to prepare for. Someone very serious about a wine and likes a variety will want a large storage cellar at about 55-60°f and then a dual zone cooler to chill whites to proper serving temp. Someone else is happy to store their wine at whatever temp and then stick whites in the frig to cool them to whatever temp they are when removed. Then there are folks in the middle. We'll have a storage cellar that I hope will be about 60°f. Reds will be served right out of the cellar. Whites will go in the top of an under counter Perlick beverage cooler so they'll be about 50°f for serving. I might shove whatever cans are in the bottom to the side to stick a lighter white on the bottom to get a little cooler. Not perfect but good enough and cost effective.

Did you ever install this wine fridge? i am getting one too and would like to put it at the end of a cabinet run, very close to our kitchen table and family room where we talk, study, and watch tv all the time. i am also concerned about the noise. Apparently there are two thpes or wine fridge, compressor or thermoelectric and the thermoelectric one is quieter but not sure if its as good at preserving wine. also not sure which type thermador is. any thoughts/knowledge on this topic would be appreciated.

I would like help finding an undercounter wine cooler or beverage center. We have finally given up on the Perlick we bought a few years ago which had trouble cooling for most of its life, even after we had it fixed. Instead of throwing more money at it, we’re going to replace it, and given our history with Perlick it will not be that brand. We need a 15 inch wide undercounter cooler, it must be quiet, and I want it to be panel ready to match it to our cupboards. Marvel has a unit that fits our needs, but I’ve seen reports that their products used to be quite loud. The company told me they don’t know how loud the frig is in decibels. Does anyone have recent experience with the Marvel frig? Is it still loud? How has it performed? Are there other coolers out there that might be better given our needs?
