Just wondering how the air lock works on my wine fermenter. I can't see any place on the top of the lock where the gas can escape. Does the fermenting gas somehow combine with the water so as not to be an explosive substance, or am I missing an escape hole in the top of the lock?

| What kind of lock do you have? If it's the 3 piece one, there are pinholes in the plastic snap on cap. |

| Oh - that's it - guess I didn't examine it closely enough. However, most recently, the "burps" were coming so fast, that it was a mystery anyway. Thank you - I'll look closer next time. Bejay |
