weeping vines

my neighbors have a few table grape vines that have done well in past years. This year they installed a ground sprinkler system that waters on a regular basis. They noticed the other day that one of the vines is 'weeping' , actually dripping a clear liquid that looks like water, feels like water and has no smell. It is actually making a wet spot on the ground! I am at a loss to explain- I personally have never grown grapes, but was asked to check this out. Can anyone explain this to me? Are they over-watering? The plants are about 10 yrs. old and well cared for-weeded, trained on 'trellis', etc.
I would sure appreciate some help with this. Thank you/

Are they large drops? Or are they small drops?

I don't know. Thrips get on crepe myrtles and makes a dew substance that will feel like rain drops/. Check for insects.

yeah... sounds like bugs to me. Some bugs either secrete a honeydew or cause the tree damage so it excudes sap to help itself heal.
