I'm with ya Dean. Though we did have some hot weather in early June (before I transplanted) and hot and DRY in July, most of the year has been really wet. Most of it's my own fault - 75 plants in soil that wasn't ready for them, planted late, but nothing off the 1 plum and 2 heirlooms that are in good soil (though they have green fruit), so far almost 7lbs of Glaciers from 9 plants (actually only 7, 2 plants haven't had any ripe yet though they're coming along), but most of those are split and/or have green shoulders. My peas rotted instead of germinated, half the lettuce rotted and the other half bolted, but the cukes are doing well. Still haven't picked much squash. I swear I had more tomatoes from 6 plants last year than I will get from 82 this year!

CEFreeman: I know that is a common mistake- I'ld like to think that most folks are now aware that above the fridge is the last place you should put your wine. But then again, what about olive oil next to the stove? That's the most convenient place to keep it, and where most folks store it, but exposing it to the heat is also bad for the olive oil. I am keeping my design the way it is, although we tweaked the cabinet so the bottom doors line up with the glass doors above. I've decided that the "crate" wine storage is fine for us- and I like the way it breaks up the cabinetry. No wine drawers available through Medallion, but I'm fine with it.

None of my wine boxes, at least the eleven under my bed, have dividers. Plastic bags, yes, but dividers, no. Do I need to drink more wine, maybe the stuff in bottles?

+1 to K&L Wines. I love going to their shop in SF and getting commendations from their staff. It's definitely a place where you'll find stuff not at Costco or Total Wines. I heartily encourage to be open to blends -- most of France's great red wines are blends rather than single varietals. Some wine lovers I know prefer to belong to specific winery clubs --- which can get you access to rare and limited release production. It's relatively common around here. I just had a limited release Malbec from a wine club that was excellent (but not available to the public). (Granted, yesterday at Costco I picked up a demi-bouteille of Chateau Miraval Rose at a bargain price -- yes, that's the Jolie-Pitt winery that produces a highly rated Rose. Seek out some Provencal rose)
