Pierce's Disease aftermath

| I live in upstate SC and had a little vineyard a few miles away of 76 vines: Chancellor, Baco Noir, Foch, Vidal Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. They all succumbed to PD, or were on the way to. It's been plowed under now. I've started a new, littler one of 20 vines, Chambourcin and Cynthiana (aka Norton) here at my house where I can keep eagle eye on it daily. They're supposedly either tolerant or resistant to PD.
Has anyone out there ever worked with these variatals? I planted about 6 weeks ago. The Chambourcin are going gangbusters, up out of blue-tubes, and forced my lazy self to finish building the trellis.
Comments and advice are hugely welcome!

| I am sorry to see that after being posted almost three months ago, you have not gotten a single helpful response. I am very new to enjoying wine drinking, and don't know a thing about vine growing. But I hope to hear how things are going for you. Allison |

| Where in Upstate SC was your Vineyard? What fungicides and insecticides were you using and how often were you applying. I am considering planting Vinis vitera on 3309 rootstock Cabernet Sauvigngon and Merlot and have heard if you spray fungicide and insecticide evry other week pierces is not a problem .....would be interested in any experiences out there....I am really not interested in planting muscadines. |
