I helped my father make wine during my entire youth. He had upwards of 1000 ginger ale bottles (still have over 500 with wine in them dating back to the 70's), and I helped him cap many of them using a simple hand press with beer caps that were lined with cork. I just opened a bottle of 93 vintage today, and it tastes beyond belief good. He never added sulfites to his wine, just pure grapes, fermented in a wood barrel for a year then bottled the next year. So, an occasional bottle would go bad, and it would land up in the vinegar barrel for some of the best vinegar to be had. So, old fashion cork beer bottle tops, if they can still be purchased, seems to be a good choice. Actually, the cork I took off this bottle was cork lined and said Lemon Lime Soda on its top. Who knows where he got these corks things from. Oh, he stored all the bottles in a cellar, just standing up. Of course, there was build up on the bottom of each bottle that was not drinkable. One just carefully poured from the storing bottle, into the serving bottle to not get any of the stuff which had built up over the years at the bottom of the bottle.

I saw a page that took the large wine bottles and put paint in it and swirled it around the bottom half. A small solar light was then set in the top and at night when the light came on they marked the path. Beautiful. going to use glass paint and try the mirror glass paint too. I also thought of pushing the colored paper they use to cover baskets with, you know it comes in red, blue green etc. Ill try red to see if it looks like a flame. I love this stuff lol.

I have kitchen plans for a 24"built in under counter Bev Fridge. I have tripled my appliance allowance and realize subzero probably is a good choice but trying to stay closer to $1,000 with builder price discount. Uline has one that does both and looks nice enough, but the shelves for the water bottles don't roll out for easy access and loading. Will mainly use it for water bottles/flavored water bottles so it needs to be taller than just cans. I also don't want it to be too loud. Prefer the stainless look with the wood edge wine shelf. Any other options out there?

So how do people who travel carry wine? I'm sure our OP has been traveling with wine and is satisfied with everything but the temperature, hence the upgrade. Obviously Scotch is what you'd take for the Top of the World highway but surely RVers aren't stuck with boxed wine the rest of the time? I haven't tried shopping on Houzz and directing people to forums for questions about an item for sale seems sort of, well, bad for sales!
