| I don't know of any specific CDs for wine labels but there's lots of wine label software out there ... just search on "wine label software" and you should get lots of hits / info. That being said, what I've done in the past was to just go out to a local vineyard or orchard with a disposable camera and ask if I could take a couple of shots of their grapes and then went to Walmart and converted them to pictures that I could use. Now, I've got a cheap digital and can snap any of the fruits I grow and transfer them to a label design using MS-Publisher (since it's got some nice border art) and they print pretty well on an inkjet printer. Also, since you make a lot of wine you might want to move more towards creating a "house brand" label that's consistent across all the wines you make so people can know where it comes from by a quick glance and then they can read the label to see what type of wine it is. I have to admit though that these days, all that printing, moistening / gluing and applying is becoming just too much work for simple identification. Now, unless it's for a gift, special event or competition, I'm lazy and just hand write the info on the bottle using a silver or gold glass marking pen from Staples. It's faster, I kill less trees and I can scrape the info off much faster than a label if I want to reuse the bottle. Wish I had more info on this ... |
