 o
quality grapes for wine growing?

Hello, I live in wisconsin, and last year I purchased two different kinds of grapes,
Fredonia and frontenac. Are these kinds of grapes high enough quality to produce a nice wine?

Don't know about Fredonia but Frontenac can make a very nice red wine. It tends to be a bit high in acid so you may need to blend in some years but here in the Hudson Valley it's pretty vigorous and easy to work with.

The University of Minnesota has released a number of superior wine grape hybrids. Elmer Swenson's Saint Croix is one of the premium midwest red wine types.
I would not bother using Fredonia, an old ordinary flat labrusca of mediocre quality.
Contact University of Minnesota for a list of their latest wine introductions.
