Parks and Burpee are for me only if I am desperate to have that particular seed. There are only few of Burpee intro plants that nobody else carries... I used to do lot more ordering overseas but after all those permit paperwork required do not do as much. Still I was very pleasantly surprised when seeds from Plant World seeds came- their packaging assures you that everything will be great and and seeds do get delivered with or without proper paperwork. Their choices are stunning, so much of rare or new seeds that it is well worth ordering. My perennial favorites are Gardens North- excellent rare, native, woodland choices, excellent germination rates- it is one company I know that will send their seeds moist packaged to preserve viability. Hardyplants.com have extensive range of seeds and I always had great germination with them, I will be ordering from them for year to come. JL Hudson, seedsman is another very reliable and quirky place to get rare seeds and GA-3, great prices and germination rates. I think they are only company that sells pretreated Datura seeds as some of them very tough to germinate. For annuals I like Swallowtail perennials and Summer Hill seeds- good choices, germination rates, varieties, customer service. For regular cottage garden look nothing beats those racks in box stores- usually it is discounted enough not to be steep and most of those seed varieties are easy to germinate with great results. I like T&M but only when they on 50% clearance sale or from Valueseeds, some of their germination were iffy for me over the years but recent couple of years it significantly improved, only rare package will be total dud,of course you have to check amount of seeds as they notorious for packaging 3-5 8 seeds per package... For primroses I discovered new for me place in France- Barnhaven primroses- got nice seed packets, excellent germination and varieties are stunning...that Wayside primroses You and Me advertised as something new and rare are indeed old plants hose in hose which have been in exsistence for while... of course T&M sells them $5 for 12 seeds....got about 100 seeds for same price at Barnhaven... and they germinated dreamily too... And most of all -remember places as NARGS- North American Rock Garden Society with it annual seed exchange, you can check out current list on website to see what you can get- well worthy cause to participate. And if you attracted to certain particular group of plants there is society with that name- Lily society, Primrose society, etc...- there are plenty of seed exchanges there and possibilities to make friends...

In this case the source of the seed is not the problem and I'm not pushing the two sources I listed, merely listing them as two that are often recommended here. As I said above when the seed source is the real issue then there are numerous threads here on 'seed sources' - both good and bad - and the search will pull them up. There is also an entire forum devoted to rating various seed vendors called the Rate & Review Vendors forum. The OP didn't mention the seed source and that is probably just as well since the odds are very slim that the source is the real issue. When it comes down to determining if a seed is breeding true to the variety's genetic characteristics then one examines leaf type, shape of the fruit especially shoulders and blossom end, number of seed cavities, color spectrum, type of growth (ind. vs. det.), etc. Should those characteristics differ then sure, an off seed is possible. But the height of the plant and the size of the fruit are primarily tied to the growing conditions provided and only secondarily to the seed genetics. For example one can grow any of the beefsteak varieties in the ground and another of the same variety in a container and there will be little comparison between the 2 plants in height or fruit size. Change the weather exposure of the two plants or the growing zone or the feeding schedule or the water availability and even more differences between the two quickly become apparent. Without knowing the details of the growing conditions the OP has provided one can only speculate as to why he has those results. Dave

I have a GE Profile French Door fridge that is 10 years old, paid almost $3k for it. I believe it was actually made by Samsung at the time and rebranded. I discovered this when I started getting water under the deli drawer and when I was looking up how to fix it online, discovered this was actually the same issue the almost identical Samsung was having. After watching some youtube videos, we fixed it ourselves since the tech who came out did a poor job. It has been fairly problem free other than that annoyance which started right after the one year warranty ended. If I could do it again I'd get a french door fridge with water in the door, but ice make in the freezer (do they even make that?). My daughter is obsessed with ice and so constantly using our ice maker and over the summer it all clumped up and then was dripping on my floor. We didn't have any issues with the ice maker until the 10 year mark so that's a good thing! I now have the ice maker disabled so all is fine and daughter is no longer crunching ice. Overall, the fridge is quiet and I love the interior layout. I just did a kitchen remodel and bought all new appliances, but decided to keep the fridge. I did not feel like getting another fridge with a new set of problems. At least with this one I know its issues.
