Moscato & Borage

A friend of mine told me about this excellent combo a few years ago-
Trim off and wash (check for aphids) about 3 handfulls of Borage Flowers (some leaves are okay) and drink about 1/4 cup of the wine out of the bottle. Then place the flowers and leaves in the bottle and 'steep' for at least 3 days in the wine cooler. The Borage imparts a fresh crisp flavor to the wine, and is served best during the Summer months.I just finished a bottle that had been 'steeping' for 6 months and it was delicious!Give it a try and let me know how you liked it!Best served chilled with fruits for dessert or with cheeses.

RE: Moscato & Borage

Which type of wine did you do this with? Whites? Reds? I have eaten borage flowers in salads but never thought about adding it to wine.
