| have a kitchen window that has the view from our front door. So i would like privacy so they can't see in, but DH wants as much light to come through. what window coverings the best? roman shade? wood blinds? |

| Not a roman shade it's either up or down. A wood blind would work but you lose your privacy when you tilt the slate open to let light in. A top down-bottom up cellular shade might be a good option. Picture the shade completly close giving you total privacy, then the top drops down halfway to let light in and the bottom stays closed to maintain privacy. |

| A Bali Solar shade would be my suggestion. The styles range from 5- 14% openess which knocks down the sun's glare and heat but not so much the light or view. They do add a layer of privacy but that changes from daytime to night and depending on interior lighting. YMMV on what the total privacy level is required. |
