 o
Window grille width?

Posted by loafer80 (My Page) on

We are building new and deciding what grille width to use 3/4" or 1".
Our window are mostly casement and have 1 vertical and 2 horizontal SDL grilles.
Are there any guidelines for window grille widths?
Thanks in advance

Not guidelines for grill width. That is purely a personal decision.

I would double check with the manufacturer as well. Often times, the SDL grid width choices are fewer than the internal options.

+1 on WOW's suggestion. Most of the SDL's that I have sold in the past have actually been 7/8" so I think you would be fine with either and would take into consideration the window sizing and how much the would block of the visible glass opening.

Thanks windowsonwashington and millworkman. I guess we will do a mock up with scotch tape on our window to see the difference.
