| Hi all,
We need to order our window wells soon for the basement. I found a product while searching on the net called sunhouses (sold by Basement systems out our way). They are light cream in colour with clear lids. The claim is they let in more light. They also have bottoms which they designed to cut out weeds from growing in the well. Has anyone used these window wells? If so, what do you think of them? BTW, please don't think I am promoting this product in any way. I have no affiliation with the company, I just wondered if they work as promoted, and if they are worth the price. Thanks for your continued help. Carol |

| How much are they? What way does the water drain if it gets inside? They look a little bigger which should let in more light as well as light reflecting off the bottom. |

| +1 There better be some drainage or ability to hook to the drain tile at the bottom. You need to, as Todd is inferring, count on the moisture getting in and allow for a pathway for it to get out. Are you going to put a bedroom in the basement? You are building the home and should absolutely provide for legal egress at the same time. For egress wells, we have used the WellCraft for our standard installation and the Rockwell for our high end requests. http://www.rockwellinc.com/windowWellSizesB.html The Rockwell is very pretty. |
