Black windows

We are at the very beginning planning stages of designing our new house. I am trying to really nail down what I like before we start talking to the architect to have our plans drawn.

I have fallen in love with black interior windows. I know some of the photos I like are steel, which do not seem practical in our climate (Ohio). There are other photos, though that may not be steel. Can anyone tell me what materials the windows linked below might be?

I have been looking at the more common locally available window manufacturers (Marvin, Pella, Andersen) and it looks like they don't offer black (or very very dark) interiors. I have read that Milgard offers black interiors, but it doesn't look like the have dealers in our area.

Can anyone offer any suggestions besides just painting the inside frames? I am worried that having new frames painted just won't look right. Are black interior frames a lost cause?

Given the slim line of the profile, I would guess those to be aluminum.

Aluminum will give you that modern look but you won't get the thermal performance that you might be looking for even out of thermally broken aluminum.

See if you can't find an Inline Fiberglass dealer in your area, or possibly aka Cascadia on the west coast in the states. I've seen gallery pictures with black or near black interiors. I found them quite striking and my research on the build of the windows themselves makes them seem top notch in quality.

If there isn't a distributor you may be able to buy direct if you're comfortable with a long distance transaction. I found this option referrenced online by those that had done it and spoke highly of it .
