New Construction Windows

We are building a new home in Southeast Wisconsin. We were told to look at Kolbe and Marvin for windows. I think Marvin is to expensive. I don't know anything about Kolbe. We built our last home seven year ago and had Anderson casment windows installed and we loved them. Our artchitect said to not go with Anderson because they are vinyl and not aluminium. Is that a big deal? Any information that you can provide on vinyl vs aluminium...the difference and any information on Kolbe or another brand window you would recommend besides Pella (don't like the product). Thanks so much!

Which Marvin unit? If you are talking about the Ultimate, you are correct that it is usually a higher end unit.

That being said, in my comparisons, the Kolbe & Kolbe windows were priced about the same.

Have you priced out the Marvin Integrity?

Give HomeSealed a ring as he is in that area.

RE: New Construction Windows

+1 on wow, Kolbe's traditionally are in the same ballpark as the Marvin Ultimate's. How ever if your doing shapes (ie: round tops, ovals, arch tops) Kolbe would be quite a bit less expensive in these units which would lower the overall cost of the Kolbe bid. But standard type windows would be in the same area price wise. Integrity would be a good unit to look at as their price point will be considerably lower.
