Window in shower.

I am remodeling my bathroom currently. There was an awning window in shower. I want to replace with a sliding window. Awnin that I removed was rotten and I removed down to studs. Removed brick mold on exterior. Question is what do I do for window. Was thinkin new construction but exterior is clapboard. Does clapboard need to be removed? Does a sliding window have a frame like a double hung with a sloped sill?

Most sliders are pocket sill windows.

If you have removed the brickmold, can you see the nailing flange?

If so, reinstall a flange equip unit and flash it appropriately.

Vinyl is great choice for showers given its inorganic nature.
