If you are getting an window to ventilate, skip the acrylic block operator and stay with a proven window.

You can get nearly every window that you want with obscure glass and lamination for safety.

The operator that you describe would be something like a casement.

We are looking at Marvin Integrity wood/ultrex for the house windows.

What do you suggest in that line? for over the master bath tub?

Casement or an awning would work just fine.

I would get the all Ultrex version in that area though because of the moisture sensitivity of the wood.

+1 on wow's advice. You may even ask to have that one window upgraded to the marine hardware if available and they offer that as an option.

I am having them price the All ultrex Integrity casement window with obscure glass. May use triple unit (casement on each side of fixed window) although this is fairly narrow at 4' 6" wide total. Or could use double casement with same width.

Also you could do a two high awning window stack with one fixed and one venting in the obscure glass.

We have decided to drop the acrylic awning window and to go with Double casement Marvin all ultrex window in the bathroom. Have not decided on whether to use jamb extensions or not. Other house windows will be Integrity wood/ultrex.
