While I like the unbroken look, be cognizant of a casement of that size.

It may be difficult to operate over the life of the window and will certainly be placing a good bit of stress on the hinge and hardware points.

While the additional units will add cost, I'd agree with WoW. In fact, many manufacturers won't even make a casement 79" tall.

You could also go with oriel or cottage style double hungs and save a bit of cash in the process. This would move the screens to the outside and eliminate the cranks and make the windows easier to clean and more likely to be problem free over the years.

Thanks so much for the responses. Yes, they originally told me that they couldn't do that height, but confirmed that they can do it after all. One bank will have 5 -26" wide windows and the other will have 3 - 32" ones.

Is it going to cause a lot of trouble? Only the side ones will be opening casements. From an aesthetics perspective, what do you think?

I can also go with fixed above and awning below.
