Thermoseal broken on windows

Please excuse my ignorance on this. We had a home inspection on a home were trying to purchase today. Inspector stated that half of the windows have damage (mold and water between panels) ...because the thermoseal is broken. The real estate agent says there is a way to repair this, but I've called several companies with no luck. She says the process involves creating a new seal. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you!

Your real estate agent is fundamentally correct in how you would "repair" it but largely incorrect in that most applications make that cost prohibitive.

If you have several, it is probably an indication of the lack of quality in the window and throwing money at a bad window is bad math.

How old are the windows and if the company is still in business, it can be a warranty part in some cases.

No company wants to just repair windows, at least most wont unless they installed the windows.

Thanks for the info. They're 25+ year old construction grade windows. Replacements are in our near future.
