I don't have experience but buying windows online seems very risky. What sets window dealers apart from other ones is aftercare and I highly doubt you will get that with such a low price and sold online. If you really want to do business with them. Go to their office and talk to them. See how they handle their business.

That is exactly what my husband said. They aren't local so we can't go to their office. Guess I will spend the extra money for the sanity that if anything goes wrong I can walk in and talk to someone to get resolution. Thanks for responding.

We bought from thewindowstore.com for the exact reasons you outlined. Did you try calling them? The sales rep was pleasant to work with and knew way more than the Home Depot people. Everything showed up as promised (albeit a week late) but that was a manufacturing issue out of the control of The Window Store. I would buy from them again.

buying a window online is idiotic and irresponsible. Buy from a pro that takes his own measurements. Plus he can bring an actual sample into your home.

I worked with The Window Store just recently. Great Service! Knowledgeable reps. My contractor only uses Milgard windows so I looked online just to get a. budget number. When I found The Window Store and put together a rough estimate, I was amazed at the cost savings.
I was nervous about ordering onoine. My contractor and my architect verified measurements and egress requirements for bedrooms. I did look at french doors as well, and when it came to doors, our local door company was a much better option, but on windows, The Window Store was great! The reps are up on California 2019 energy requirements. My contractor let me know when a window needed to have tempered glass. Working together as a team made it a very positive experience.

I got windows from them. They are a legit company. I would use them again.

I only post this because i had such difficulty finding any reviews of them when decided to order from them.

I am a contractor and have recently purchased Milgard windows from the window store. Thankfully the windows are for my house and I didn’t need them at a specific time because they showed ip over a month late. Communication was terrible between sales rep and shipping company as they were trying to locate my windows. After being told a dozen projected arrival dates, they finally showed up. It was about a 12 hour notice, making it difficult to pull out of work and meet them at my house. Windows were in good condition and built to spec. Communication could have been a lot better.

I've ordered twice through The Window Store. First time was fine. Zero communication, but the windows showed up on the projected date.

Second time has not been the same. Like Sam said above, communication is seriously lacking. Everything is back ordered right now. So, no surprise, the projected delivery date was 4 months after I ordered them. The date got moved back by two weeks at one point.

Week of the delivery, I spoke to them three times to confirm that the windows would show up as projected. They confirmed that they would be showing up on the date they said. Long story short, they did not show up on that date.

Turns out, the windows hadn't even been made yet. The line they were giving me about everything showing up on time was a complete lie, and they gave me a new date 3 weeks later. So, I get to pay to reschedule all the trades that depend on this.

Given that they're just a drop shipper for Milgard, communication really should be what they're in business for. So, it's a bit shocking considering it's completely lacking. You may get your windows, and last time they were in perfect condition, but that's on Milgard, not The Window Store.

I purchased through The Window Store for my new construction Ultra fiberglass windows since I had the dimensions. I was hesitant to use them, but was trying to beat the price increase Milgard had announced last fall. My sales rep Lori was very helpful, more so than the local dealer who was trying to string me out past the increase. I got everything submitted on time and for less money with Lori’s help. After the order, I had several issues with Milgard due to supply chain and labor problems, but Lori was on top of it and resolved everything quickly. It has honestly been the easiest part of my project, but I had an excellent salesperson.

To be honest, The Window Store doesn't spend $ on TV, radio, or online marketing and saves money that way. They actually cold-knocked my door and asked if I needed any window improvements/replacements. I said I actually had been considering for awhile, but hadn't pulled the trigger. I set up an appointment and, having replaced 1 other property's windows and also having been through several window companies sales pitches, I knew what I would be looking for. I set up a time, listened to someone explain their specific product, they used to use Alside windows, which I have on another property, and I liked what they had to say. They were inexpensive, but had the same characteristics I was looking for and had gone with in the past. I can only speak for myself, but I am satisfied. I asked for even more of a discount (military discount and discount if I advertise on my lawn for them). I got what discount I could and ended up paying $28k or $29k for the whole 2 story house (3 bedrooms). They even replaced rotting wood on 3 or 4 windows for no extra charge (there would have been extra charge if there was 1 more window's wood frame/sill that had been rotted). They ALSO pointed out 4 cheap shortcuts whatever window company installed windows before took; this was before I purchased the home. Learned even more about windows. Satisfied!

And, they are local to Milwaukee area, with an office in New Berlin.
