Storm Windows for Sound Reduction

Posted by vikigncrown (My Page) on

I recently moved into a new house and am dealing with some road noise. I would love to go with the soundproof widows, but they are just too expensive with shipping and install for me.

I read here that Storm Windows if installed correctly and with the correct material can help out. I am confused as to what I should be looking for.

The noise is low frequency, road noise and bass from car stereo's so I understand that type is difficult to attenuate.

Could someone help me with what I'm looking for and where i can find it. Preferably in the Lansdale Pennsylvania area.

Regards,
Brian

Check out Allied Storm windows. You can get them with laminated glass which will greatly cut down on noise.

Here is a link that might be useful: http://www.alliedwindow.com/

Tube,

thanks for the suggestion. I contacted a local glass place and they are making me 3 laminated glass storm panels that they will install in the next 2 weeks!

I can't wait! Anyone know what type of reduction I might be able to notice in regards to traffic noises?
