We are building a traditional colonial looking 2 story home and are going with Simonton Brickmould 600 vinyl windows. We are doing 3060 on 1st floor with 9 foot ceilings and 3050 on 2nd floor with 8 foot ceilings. Just saw in the window quote (that shows drawings of each window size) that the grids in the 3060 appear to be a little more square with 9 on top and 9 on bottom. The 3050 look a little more rectangular with 6 on top and 6 on bottom. Is it ok to mix grid sizes on a front elevation for a traditional looking house?? We have some inspiration pictures from older houses where it looks like when the window sizes were different on 1st and 2nd floor that the 1st floor actually had an extra grid in the bottom half (ie 6 over 9). Is that a specification I can get with a new window?
