Okna doesnt offer aluminum windows. What are you talking about ?

The Okna 400 is vinyl and does not come equip with a nailing flange.

The Nailing flange would be the surface that you seal via the flashing tape.

I would like to see a drip cap above these type of applications as compared to just a caulk joint but it may be more than properly done in this case.

Your right the 400 did not come with a nailing flange so I messed that up. I can't take the window out now though. Whats the best that I can do now?

It sounds like your carpenter was just mimicking the design on the rest of the home assuming that the other windows have brickmold. There are several details that could make this install great or terrible, but it is impossible to say with only the info given. To answer your question at this point, there is nothing that you can do with flashing tape. A drip cap over the top piece of brickmold would be a good idea. I'd actually say it is necessary if the wall above it is exposed, but not a huge deal if under an eave... Again, more info and pics would help with that determination.

So the installer did a full tear out in this case?

No sure why when the insert looks like it would have been perfect.

Can't concretely identify if he put in a drip cap but I suspect this carpenter cant work a break and hence the rationale behind a full tear out.

It appears to have been done properly and well sealed up.

Did a full tear out because wanted to get rid of wood in bathtub area.
