| How does Marvin's window and door pricing work? Do the Marvin reps always quote MSRP? Quote another price?
Also, can the quote be negotiated down? What's reasonable? -- e.g., x% off the price for a $25K order, y% for a $50K order, z% for a $75K order, etc. Suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help/advice/suggestions!! |

| I used to sell Marvin product several years ago and I had never heard of anyone selling a premium product such as Marvin as a "discount off of MSRP". Marvin's discount to dealers is not huge from the list price as it is. Most dealers use the discount to figure their costs and put a percentage or mark up on their costs. So the price they quote you would be the price they expect you to pay, as far as negotiating a lower price that is up to the salesman or individual dealer. The price you were quoted should have been from an independent dealer and not Marvin themselves as Marvin does not sell direct to contractor nor homeowners. |
