Bay vs Bow

I'm considering replacing two 36" wide windows in my dining room with a bow window. HD quoted me $1750 for a bow but made it into 4 separate casement windows. I was hoping to have one 36" window in the middle and two 18" windows on the side. Would a bay be a better option?

Is installation about the same?

Is it a big enough area to make an impact with this or should I stick to the standard flat windows?

RE: Bay vs Bow

The only difference between a Bow & Bay is there layout. The Bow window has four or five even units composing the window. The Bay is always a picture window flanked with operating units. If they can make an 18" casement they can make it with no problem. The only difference would be the degreed angles from the house. Hope this makes sense! Good Luck!!!

RE: Bay vs Bow

I've never been a big bow window fan--but I have no rationale behind that other than personal preference--so I'd go for either the wall of picture windows or a bay window. I guess, for some reason, I think bow windows look more modern and bay windows look more traditional...

Good luck.
