Screens for French Doors

Hi Everyone - I have two ancient, drafty patio doors that I am looking forward to replacing. I have been shopping and have come to a point of confusion. I do not want doors that open into the two rooms because of furniture placement and space issues. So my options are french sliders or french doors that open out. The french sliders are nice looking, but I don't like the lack of symmetry when they are open and I would like to have the entire space available. I would like to get french doors that open out, but in general the sales people selling the doors do not sell retractable screens and have been negative about them. I am interested to hear anyone's experience with retractable screen doors. I don't want to make an important purchase and seriously regret it! Thank you so much!

RE: Screens for French Doors

Phantom screens are a great choice for your application as they have many colors to choose from. This, of course, preempts you from being able to stain the interior. This assumes you are looking at wood.
If you are looking at vinyl or fiberglass doors, your color choices may be a little off.
Good luck.
