Both great doors. I would say that the Provia has a slight edge over the HGI.

I too live in a HOA. Are you saying that both companies can paint the door and sidelights exactly the same color as required by the HOA, or are they using stock colors for a similar match?

BpChill - The doors must be painted the custom color mix specified by my HOA. I don't know whether Provia and HomeGuard can do that, or if they can, whether one will charge a lot more than the other to do it. I would prefer the factory do the painting because I think it will be much more durable than if I hired a painter to paint the new door and frames in my HOA's custom color.

Just a quick search on both....per Provia's website they will do a custom color. HGI's website isn't as explicit. You are correct, a factory finish will far exceed a paint-on-site finish.

I believe a quick call to either one of theses two mfr's dealers or a direct call to either one can give you an idea in price.

+1 on a factory finish. Both are good doors.

20 gauge isn't giving you much of a tangible advantage over 22. If you a 22 gauge door hard enough to dent it, the 20 gauge will as well.
