I don't think there is a break in advantage in this case comparing one material to another.

The PGT will have a bit better thermal performance but in your climate, the frame is less important to the overall performance given the lack of a heating season.

PGT is well regarded and I will confess to not knowing the other brand.

vb123, why are you looking to replace your windows? Is there a reason as to why are you limiting your research to only these two?

Thank you everyone for you feedback. We bought our house a year ago. We live in Florida, but this house does not have hurricane shutters. We thought that since the windows/doors already show wear/tear after 20+ years, we might as well get hurricane windows instead of shutters. I priced 4 different dealers. Three used PGT and one - CGI that no one heard about (although maybe someone heard of Targa -that the name of one of their window products). They all gave me similar prices.

Actually PGT bought CGI and a bunch of other companies.
I put it in google and they bought a lot.

PGT made the purchase of CGI in 2014. I think they bought ECO and many more. I heard but don’t know installers too.
