Please help with windows for new construction

I would really appreciate some guidance or direction! We hope to build an aging in place home--our one and only. So we are concerned about energy efficiency, maintenance, and cost effectiveness. We live in Maryland, outside of D.C. I've read CR reports that like the clad wood windows over the vinyl. The Integrity from Marvin and the Anderson 200 seem mid-priced. CR also liked the Pella fiberglass, but I'm wary of Pella because of the lawsuit. My GC suggested Jeldwen Vinyl but I'm concerned that's just for price. We will have a single story house and would like the traditional no grid in the bottom and 6-grid in the top, argon-filled double pane, low E. Trim in off-white. Can you suggest which windows your would consider or a place I can go to help narrow the search? I realize this is a huge investment, and can't afford to make a mistake! Thanks so much for helping me!!
