AWDI Certification versus Factory Certified Installer

Posted by bpChiIl (My Page) on

Could someone here please explain the difference between these two certifications for window installers? Is one better than the other, or are they equivalent?

Does a certification truly mean a whole lot? I have seen it said - a certification doesn't make a bad installer good, and a good installer great. Is there truth in this statement?

Thanks for your replies.

RE: AWDI Certification versus Factory Certified Installer

Certification is a nice touch because it does indicate that someone has gone the extra mile to get certified, however, most of the best installers that I know are not certified.

Most of them are too busy being busy and installing.

I would not base my decision one way or another on this.
