Bamboo shades for skylights

Not sure this is the right forum - please direct me to where I should go if not.....

I have 2 skylights - I'm looking to cover them with something to filter out the light (not blackout). I bought a blackout skylight shade for our nursery, and while it works, I spent about $300 on the blind and don't really love it.

So was looking to see if I could get some ideas on other options. Been looking online and haven't found much.

I'd love a bamboo shade, perhaps somehow attached to 2 tension rods on the top and bottom? Any DIY'ers can make suggestions on how to approach this project?

This is probably the right spot but I can't say that I have heard of an application like this previously.

Might be a time for some trial and error and some "MacGyvering"
