Pella Quote & Advice

I've received a quote of 10.5k to replace 10 windows and 1 sliding door. The quote is from a local Pella store so it's direct from the company. The windows they'll be installing are the 250 series and the sliding door is the 350 series. The windows are about half double hung and the other half are sliders. I was told by the rep that almost all of them are non standard sizes, which adds to the cost.

Wondering if the quote is reasonable and if the windows are worth purchasing over a higher or lower series or different brand. I've recently read some bad reviews on pella which is why I ended up here.

I'm on the east coast, NC to be more exact, if anyone has any suggestions for other reputable companies and products I should look into.

In my opinion I would keep looking as I would not use Pella in any series. 250 Series to me appears to be a vinyl window so I would look at Softlite, Polaris, Okna are a few of the better brands available. I do believe you should be able to find a better window at a lower price than that (I may be wrong and if I am I am sure some one will correct me).

I agree, there's little positive to be said about the brand you're considering. The ones listed by millworkman would be good choices.

That is a very high price for their lower tier vinyl product IMO. I agree with the other pros, check out some other options.

The 350 is their top line windows...isn't it?

Yes, but the 350 series quoted was only the door. The windows were all 250's because the 350's were much more expensive according to the guy quoting things out.
