| Have vinyl window/door prices jumped up in the last 6 months?
I just got a quote that is 20% higher that someone else got last December, and I'm buying twice the volume. Both quotes are from the same large building supply operation which mostly caters to contractor. Same type/glass/size/etc. Just the items, not installed.

| Prices have gone up from a year ago but 20% is probably a bit high if I think back to the price increases we have gotten. |

| Prices on everything will be going up in the future as we begin the inflationary cycle. I agree, Simonton prices haven't gone up 20%. They have gone up some, as have other manufacturers. Part of this is also due to the huge increases in oil prices. These affect raw materials cost, transportation etc. |

| Well, I got an in-between price from another store in the same group (different name, they probably merged some time in the past, total chain of 3 + 1 ). The in-between was ~9.5% higher than that other person got last December, so maybe that's the going rate. There is also a $20 per window or patio door rebate going which will take a few percent off -- I have mostly doors, so $20 each is a pretty small percentage. Thanks for the replies. Gary |
