I wouldn't even for next to nothing. Complete crap shoot on the carpentry, depending on the brand door no bueno on that either.

The stories on the big box guys are numerous when it comes to failed installations.

Are there some good installers, sure. Are there some nightmares, you betcha.

Probably better to stick with and exterior company specifically.

I would not waste my money with such low quality garbage, if you do, its your own fault. I can say that because i made that mistake 5 years ago and it cost me a lot if money. Get quality, its cheaper that way.

Thanks so much for the advice. I will try to find a window company that will work with a customer who only wants one door. Some won't even talk to me and some have ridiculous prices.

You can try searching for Integrity by Marvin thru their website. they sell thru some lumberyards or retail stores who will sell the product on its own to anyone one at a time. And you could then install it yourself or hire a contractor to install it for you.

We bought an Anderson sliding door from Home Depot, but did the installation ourselves. We've been happy with the door.

Can't say that Andersen is not a good patio door., but I can say that some series are crap and some are pretty good. And truthfully unless you know exactly what you want and how to order it correctly HD or any box store is a crap shoot as the guy selling it to you could have been selling toilet plungers last week and know nothing about them either!
