How to screen old windows

I have an 1890's cottage, used in the summer only. The windows are a hodge podge of sizes, and none have a groove or channel for a screen on the outside. The aluminum frame screens in place are held with the type of clips that are pushed into a slot on the window frame, or have a little friction clip at the top and finish nails set in the outside to hold them in place. Almost all are warped and/or bent, and the push clips either missing or bent so they don't work. So I want to replace the entire screens, but I would like a more effective and durable retention system. Any suggestions?

The easiest way is to reproduce the exact screen that is there. Most glazing companies have screen hardware to retrofit your existing screens.

You can also have a an exterior screen track fabricated up to accept a new screen as well.
