 o
Skylight for bath - slope requirement

Posted by myrtle_59 (My Page) on

I am remodeling an upstairs bath that is in a dormer area. It is a big shed dormer across the back of the house. The dormer roof has a slight pitch, not a lot. I have many skylights in the house but none in this area where the roof doesn't have a steep pitch. Where can I find the requirements easily and how do I measure pitch of roof to see if it will work? I have tried the Velux and Anderson sites and they are very hard to navigate with reagard to this question. We are having a bath remodeler do this but I am living with it for the long run, they are not so I want to be satisfied myself before I decide to do this.

Thanks.

Google is your friend: http://roofgenius.com/roofpitch.htm

Requirements will need to be confirmed from whatever manufacturer you decide on.

Velux makes a 306 model I beleive that I use for nearly
flat roofs. I've used those with success.
They come with the copper flashing already attached
to the skylight in one piece, not step flash type.
Just drop it into your shed roof and roof to it.
