 o
YKK window opinions?

Posted by JSpann (My Page) on

Does anyone have an opinion on these YKK windows? I realize we're just talking about a vinyl window here, nothing fancy/built to last a millennium... we're in TN, someone said to look for .27 or lower for double pane/double hung - but what about these single hung? This lumber yard also carried Ellison but we weren't super impressed by how they functioned (hard to open/shut...).
Thanks for any thoughts you can offer!

Chinese garbage IMO. The .19 shgc would indicate 2 layers of low-e, and to only get a .30 u factor with that is atrocious. Keep shopping.

Not sure about the windows being junk or not but the numbers are terrible.

Bad SHGC and very dark for crappy thermal numbers.

Do you happen to have any recommendations for vinyl window brands found in middle Tennessee?
Also, What shgc should I am for?
... Time to hit some more suppliers, the search continues!
Thanks :)
