| Any opinions on some good replacement windows for the Northern VA area? We have hot and humid summers and winters are around 30-40. We were thinking of wood clad but a sales person said that those don't fair well in our climate due to the humid summers (wood expanding under the aluminum clad). We don't want fiberglass so we were thinking of renewal by anderson since they are fibrex.
Any thoughts/recommendations? |

| Recently I examined the Anderson renewal in one of my clients homes. They had 24 windows replaced. Their average cost per window was 1400.00. Yeah, they are pretty. Don't beleive everything a salesman tells you. I aam a carpenter and aluminum clad wood windows here in the North East have worked very well for me. I've used Trimline and Pella with real good results All the best, The Porch Guy |

| I would avoid the Renewal Window also. While it's a decent window, it's grossly over-priced. If you are looking for a composite window, I'd look at the Okna Starmark. There is a dealer in NoVa. Might want to look at Marvin also. |
