In my 35 years experience Pella has the best system for the pleated shades or mini blinds between the glass.

I've just read about a lot of problems with pella, mostly in the years 06-09. Have they improved since then?

What is a "hines" Kolbe? Never heard of such an animal and personally I would not use anything by Pella.

Stay away from Pella. their #1 service issue is blinds between the glass. Their 2nd is the class action lawsuit that originated in Chicago. They have not made any changes to their product design to eliminate their water leakage problems. Look to the Eagle product line byy Andersen Windows they are holding up very well in my house and we had them replaced about 3 years ago.

Pella's blinds are nice, too bad the may outlast the windows themselves.

Yes, I would definitely check out Andersen's E-Series (Formerly Eagle) product. I believe when you say Hines' Kolbe Window you mean you saw it at Hines Building Supply? Hines does carry Andersen as well, and E-Series.
