Anderson 400 casement noisy?

Anyone else have the problem with their Anderson 400 casement windows creaking? I sort of understand in a strong wind, but they seem to do it in a strong breeze. They make so much noise we can't have the windows open at night because they seem to make noise all the time. I had casement windows at my old house, and they did not seem to have these problems. Should I ask the Anderson people? Is this a problem that these windows just have?

RE: Anderson 400 casement noisy?

I have a house full of existing Anderson casements, not sure of the model # and I hate them. They move and squeak even in a mild breeze. Eventually the mechanism loosens or breaks completely. Forget about having them open even a little when it rains. Casements might make sense over a kitchen sink so you don't have to be close to the wall to open them. Even then, I'd install them horizontally, like a jalousie. Can't wait to replace them with double-hung tilt-ins!
