used to be in an older house that had some Pella windows that had some nifty little blinds in between the double panes -- not sure how energy efficent they were- but the blinds were sure cool not having to use drapes and so forth (if you dont want the drapes as a fashion statement)...does anyone still make something like that these days in an affordable/energy efficient window? They probably couldnt put any of the "gases" in between the panes by placing the blinds in there....

the only problems we ever had was after about 10 years some of the cords broke and they had to be replaced - I think we just replaced the "blind units" and installed ourselves..
