Building a new house and can't decide on windows

We live in Michigan and are building a custom ranch home. This is the first time we've built a home and we have been looking at various windows only to seem to be stuck in analysis paralysis! What are some recommended window brands for our area - we are open to vinyl or fiberglass. (I'm not overly particular as long as they are energy efficient and will last.) We definitely don't want low end but are trying to keep within a budget too. The builder used Anderson 400 series when making the window allowance.

What do you want them to look like on the interior?

Any color specifications?

We are fine with white on the inside - we've always had white windows and they don't bother us. I imagine double hung or sliders will work the best based on shape.

What about color on the exterior side?
Were they priced out with standard sized Andersen windows?
What brand of vinyl windows does your builder or you have access to? Sometimes the recommended brands can be hard to get even though they are available in your area.
I would see what's available, price them out then make a decision off of that. Fiberglass tend to run more than both of these but you may be able to get a good price on the Marvin Integrity especially in standard sizes, be aware there are 2 lines available, one is all ultrex and the other is wood interior/Ultrex..
